US steel shipments increase 3.4% on-month: AISI
US steel mills shipped 7.3 million short tons in March, an increase of 3.4% compared with February shipments which totalled 7.1m st, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
The monthly US mill shipments are down 5.7% versus 7.8m st shipped in March 2023. The total is lower by 3.6% year-to-date. In the first three months of 2024, US mills shipped 21.8m st, compared with 22.6m st in the January-March period in 2023.
