COPPER: Antofagasta expects lower production, higher costs in 2022
UK-listed, Chilean mining group Antofagasta expects its copper production costs to increase this year, Kallanish reports.
“In 2022 we expect copper production to be 660,000-690,000 tonnes at a net cash cost of $1.55 per pound as grades decrease at Centinela Concentrates and the drought continues to impact Los Pelambres,” ceo Iván Arriagada said in the company’s Q4 2021 production report.
