COPPER: Global supply heads to a 6m t/y deficit by 2030
Global supply of copper is heading to a deficit of 6 million tonnes by 2030, as demand outpaces both supply and new investments, Rystad Energy forecasts.
The Norwegian consultancy estimates copper demand will grow 16% by the end of 2030 reaching 25.5m t/year. At the same time, global supply is set to drop 12% compared to 2021 levels to 19.1m t/y.
