Political will - not metal - restricts EV growth: T&E
European campaign group Transport & Environment (T&E) said in a new study on Tuesday that there’s no shortage of metals for EVs - only wrong priorities, Kallanish reports.
Looking at current supply capacity of Class 1 nickel, lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate and gigafactories, T&E estimates that there are enough raw materials to make 14 million BEVs globally in 2023. That is 55% higher than the current market projections, the group adds.
