Eramet obtains EU grant for battery recycling project
French miner Eramet has been awarded a grant of €70 million ($75m) by the European Commission (EC) for its lithium-ion battery recycling project called “ReLieVe." At its research centre Eramet Ideas in Trappes, France, the miner has been developing since 2020, in partnership with Suez, a "closed-loop" optimised process to recycle batteries for electric vehicles and boost the circular economy.
