Ford commits to buying green steel, aluminium
Ford has joined the First Movers Coalition, a business organization aimed at leveraging purchasing economies of scale to develop robust clean energy supply chains.
The coalition is made up of more than 50 companies, with an aggregate market value of $8.5 trillion. Ford aims to buy at least 10% of near-zero carbon steel and aluminium by 2030, with carbon neutrality sought by 2050. The company is investing $50 billion through 2026 toward that end.
