Glencore racks up $1.1 billion bribery, manipulation fine
Anglo-Swiss mineral giant Glencore has pled guilt and settled with the governments of the US, the UK, and Brazil on bribery and market manipulation charges to the aggregate tune of at least $1.1 billion.
The countries allege that Glencore both paid bribes for access to African and South American oil and manipulated US fuel oil prices, Kallanish understands.
