Jervois Global approves FID on restarting Brazil nickel-cobalt refinery
Australia-based Jervois Global says it intends to restart its mothballed Sao Miguel Paulista nickel-cobalt refinery in Brazil, Kallanish reports.
The company has approved a final investment decision that calls for first production in Q1 2024. Stage 1 of the project in São Paulo, Brazil, calls for 10,000 tonnes/year of nickel and 2,000 t/y of cobalt metal cathode. The restart will cost about $65 million with expansion contingencies.
