Russian miner Nornickel confirmed that it plans to increase nickel and copper production at its facilities in 2022, after it decreased output last year due to major accidents, Kallanish notes.
The company plans to produce 205,000-215,000 tonnes/year of nickel this year and copper output may grow to 365,000-385,000 t/y in 2022.
The production of nickel in 2023-2024 may amount to 215,000-230,000 t/y. Copper output in 2023 and 2024 could reach 370,000-390,000 t/y.
