Rio Tinto revises copper guidance, progresses lithium project
Rio Tinto announced Tuesday it expects lower refined copper production and, consequently, higher operating costs this year, Kallanish reports.
The guidance for refined copper production now stands at 190,000-220,000 tonnes, compared to 230,000-290,000 t previously. The move reflects further downside risk associated with Kennecott’s smelter and refinery performance.
