Steelmaker Salzgitter starts up high-temperature electrolyser
German steelmaker Salzgitter AG has started operating what it says is the world’s largest high-temperature electrolyser. The facility is capable of producing 200 normal cubic metres of hydrogen per hour, to be used at the mill’s annealing processes as a replacement for hydrogen produced from natural gas, Kallanish hears from the company.
