Two tribes drop out of Alaskan mining highway lawsuit
Two Alaska Native tribes that had been opposed to a controversial Alaskan mining highway are now supporting the project, Kallanish reports.
The tribal councils of Allakaket and Huslia say they recognise the need to balance their traditional lifestyle and environmental protections with economic opportunities in dropping out of a lawsuit against the Ambler Road project being advanced by Ambler Metals and the state of Alaska.
