UK to launch new funding scheme for critical minerals
The UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) agency said on Wednesday the government is making £15 million ($18m) in funding available for rare earth elements R&D, Kallanish reports.
The funding programme run by Innovate UK will support cutting edge research to strengthen the supply of critical minerals. The government hopes to help UK firms to establish “resilient and sustainable access” to these minerals, essential to electric motors.
