VW Group to build $2 billion EV plant in South Carolina
Volkswagen Group said Friday it will invest $2 billion in a new electric vehicle plant for its Scout Motors brand in the US, Kallanish reports.
The carmaker confirmed the new factory will be built near Columbia, South Carolina. Production of the electric pick-up and rugged SUVs is slated for late 2026. The EV off-road project is expected to create 4,000 new jobs and run an annual production capacity of over 200,000 vehicles.
