Domestic 2021 shipments rise, AISI reports
According to the annual statistical report issued by the American Iron and Steel Institute, in 2021, shipments from domestic steel mills measured 94.7 million short tons, monitors Kallanish.
The shipments reflect a 16.9% increase over the previous year. Raw steel production rose on-year by 18%. The report also found an increase in imports of 42.9% in 2021 compared to 2020 - the first increase in four years.
