Aggressive Indian bookings hike Pakistani shredded scrap offers
The recent increase in scrap bookings by India has made it a preferred destination for European and UK-based scrap suppliers. This has however impacted Pakistani buyers as they have to match Indian bids to secure scrap, despite weak domestic sentiment, depreciating currency, dollar shortages and the monsoon.
Moreover, owing to better realisations in India, Pakistani buyers are also facing container shortages to bring in imported material, sources tell Kallanish.
