Ahmsa increases output by 5% in 2021
Altos Hornos de Mexico (Ahmsa) saw a 5% rise in production volumes in 2021, Kallanish learns from the Mexican flatrolled steelmaker, and plans to increase output even more this year.
Ahmsa produced 2 million tonnes of liquid steel during the year compared to 1.9mt in 2020. The majority was produced via blast furnace production, while EAF production doubled over the prior year to 400,000t in 2021.
Steel slab production of 1.921mt rose by 100,000t over 2020 levels.…
