Algerian authorities launch new iron ore mine
The Algerian energy and mines minister inaugurated last week the launch of exploitation of the Gara Djebilet iron ore reserve.
The mine is set to produce 2-3 million tonnes/year of iron ore during the first phase – 2022-2025 – and could increase output to as much as 50m t/y from 2026 onwards, Kalanish understands.
