ASEAN billet market dips under $600
The ASEAN billet import market continues to weaken, Kallanish notes. Certain traders are heard to be actively driving down the market with low-priced offers.
Offers for electric arc and blast furnace billet from ASEAN mills are prevailing at $585-590/tonne cfr Manila, Philippine importing sources say. This is a large fall from offers which were at lows of around $635/t cfr on 17 June.
