Baosteel lowers flats quotes for June
China’s Baosteel has lowered quotes for flat steel products due for June shipments to the domestic market. This suggests an overall pessimistic outlook among steelmakers for the month, as other major producers have already lowered prices, Kallanish notes.
Hot rolled, cold rolled, pickled coils and thick plate will see a list price cut of CNY 200/tonne ($28.8/t), as will hot-dip galvanised, electro-galvanised and non-oriented silicon steel.
