Baosteel maintains high profits despite yearly declines
Although the industry is still in difficulty, China’s Baosteel still maintained a relatively high level of profit in the first quarter despite this halving year-on-year, Kallanish learns.
In Q1, Baosteel saw iron and crude steel output at 11.87 million tonnes and 12.83mt, respectively growing 10.7% and 7.8% from the same period of last year. Quarterly sales of finished steel, meanwhile, hiked nearly 9% to 12.11mt.
