Prices in Turkey’s scrap import market continue to remain under pressure amid weak demand and low-priced imported billet offers.
The latest booking from the US was concluded at $350/tonne cfr Turkey last Friday, versus $353-354/t earlier last week, while short-sea scrap was booked at $320/t cfr Marmara.
Although a western Turkish mill concluded several imported scrap bookings last week, other mills’ appetite for purchases remains low.
