Brazil’s April scrap exports climb to 2.5-year high
Brazil saw ferrous scrap exports continue growing in April for the fifth consecutive month, Kallanish notes. Meanwhile, imports remained insignificant.
According to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic), scrap exports reached 82,400 tonnes in April, a growth of 11,000t compared to March, and 14.7% higher y-o-y. This volume was the largest shipped abroad since September 2020, when the country exported 97,300t of ferrous scrap.
