Brazil’s exports fall, imports grow in August
Brazil saw steel exports decrease on-month in August. Import activity, meanwhile, rose sharply after relatively lower entries in the previous month, Kallanish notes.
According to local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB)’s latest data, exports fell 3.4% on-month but were 7% higher on-year in August at 923,914 tonnes.
