Brazil’s May iron ore exports increase sequentially
Brazil saw iron ore exports rise on-month in May. Year-to-date shipments, however, remained weaker when compared to the same period in 2021, Kallanish notes.
According to the latest Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data, shipments abroad of iron ore reached 25.5 million tonnes in May, up 2.8% over April’s 24.8mt but 3.8% less on-year.
Five-month exports amounted to 122.48mt, or down 8.2% over January-May last year. …
