Brazil's pig iron production rebounds in March
Brazilian pig iron output rose month-on-month but was weaker on-year in March, according to data issued by local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB) and monitored by Kallanish.
March pig iron output reached 2.24 million tonnes, up 7.6% m-o-m but down 1.6% over the same period in 2022. Three-month production totalled 6.61mt, which was 1.3% lower than the 6.69mt produced in the same period last year, IAB data show.
