Brazil pig iron production remains stable in 2021

Brazilian pig iron production fell both month-on-month and on-year in December, according to data issued by local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB) and monitored by Kallanish. Pig iron output in 2021 totalled 28.4 million tonnes, 15.3% higher than the 24.6mt produced in 2020. During December alone, pig iron production reached 2.28mt.
