Brazil’s steel trade surplus narrows in April
Brazil remained a net exporter of steel in April. The country’s trade surplus was however almost 477,000 tonnes in the month, narrowing 47.5% over March and 45.7% year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
According to local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB), Brazilian steel exports decreased 29.2% month-on-month and also 20.2% on-year in April to 880,462t.
