Brazil’s steel trade surplus widens sequentially in February
Brazil remained a net exporter of steel in February. The country’s trade surplus was almost 736,000 tonnes in the month, widening 25.4% over January, Kallanish notes.
According to local steelmakers’ association Instituto Aço Brasil (IAB), Brazilian steel exports increased 10% month-on-month and 11.6% more on-year in February to 1.06 million tonnes.
