Brazil’s Usiminas appoints new president
The board of Brazilian steelmaker and miner Usiminas has elected Alberto Akikazu Ono as president and executive director, Kallanish notes. He replaces Sergio Leite who became chairman at the company’s general meeting on 28 April.
Ono has been with Usiminas since January 2009, initially as director of planning and control. In 2018, he was appointed vice-president of finance and investor relations. The position is now occupied by Thiago da Fonseca Rodrigues.
