Brazil's wire rod trade deficit widens in April

Brazil remained a net importer of wire rod in April, Kallanish notes. The country’s trade deficit was almost 14,230 tonnes in the month, widening 33.9% and 63% respectively over March and compared to the same period in 2022. According to the latest Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data, imports of wire rod reached 16,800t in April, up 9.1% versus the previous month and 24% more y-o-y.
