China's rebar prices hit 18-month low

The Chinese rebar market was routed last week, hitting the lowest level since mid-February 2021. Lower futures prices added to the pessimism, Kallanish notes. In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 4,360-4,380/tonne ($650-653/t), down CNY 260/t on-week. The October rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at CNY 4,354/t, down by CNY 152/t compared with Thursday and down CNY 439/t from the pā€¦
