China's scrap declines into year end
China's scrap prices have fallen due to weakening demand at the end of the year, and processors are not willing to hold stock, boosting market shipments.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,958/tonne ($423/t), including VAT. This is up CNY 2/t from Thursday but down CNY 57/t compared with the previous Friday.
