China's scrap holds on firm demand
China's scrap prices were almost flat last week, and the quick arrival of scrap has relieved the market from supply concerns.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,153/tonne ($453/t), including VAT. This is up CNY 6/t from Thursday and increased by CNY 5/t from the previous Friday.
