China's wire rod exports decline before holiday
China's wire rod export prices saw a slight decline ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival, even as domestic prices increased due to pre-holiday restocking demand.
On Thursday, Kallanish assessed 6.5mm diameter mesh-grade wire rod at $585-590/tonne fob China, down $2.5/t week-on-week.
A northeastern Chinese mill maintained its alloy-added wire export offer at $590/t fob China, but a trader could offer a discount of $5/t. Export transactions continued…
