Chinese mills lower flats prices for May
China’s HBIS Group and Angang decided to continue to lower flats product prices for May, taking into account the slow recovery in sales, Kallanish notes.
Except for plates and colour coated sheets, which see prices remain unchanged, HBIS has lowered offers for hot rolled coils and pickled sheets by CNY 100/tonne ($14.19/t). Prices for full hard coils, cold rolled coils, hot dip galvanized and electrogalvanized sheets will be cut by CNY 200/t.
