Chinese rebar gains on demand recovery
China's rebar market saw a gradual recovery in demand last week, and prices rose driven by rising futures, Kallanish notes.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 4,130-4,150/tonne ($616-619/t), up CNY 105/t on-week. The October rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at CNY 4,265/t, down by CNY 113/t compared with Thursday but up CNY 76/t from the previous Friday.
