Chinese scrap market rebounds with lower supply
China's scrap market picked up last week, despite steel mills running at a loss and demand remaining muted.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,775/tonne ($389/t), including VAT. This is CNY 39/t higher from Thursday and up CNY 150/t compared with the previous Friday.
