Chinese scrap prices fall, imports restart
China's scrap market prices plummeted last week, while import prices fell slightly to attract mill bookings.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,655/tonne ($545/t), including VAT. This is CNY 43/t lower from Thursday and down CNY 141/t compared with the previous Friday.
