Chinese steel futures continue to rise
Chinese steel futures continued their recovery as a new week began amid improving spot market sentiment for both steel and iron ore, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the October rebar contract closed at CNY 3,544/tonne ($556.5/t), CNY 69/t higher than on Friday. The same contract for hot rolled coil meanwhile closed up CNY 81/t at CNY 3,680/t. In Tangshan, billet prices rose to CNY 3,580/t, marking a CNY 120/t increase over the past week.
