Chinese steel futures slip as markets re-open
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures both slumped during the morning and then stabilised during the afternoon on Thursday, the first trading day after the Spring Festival holidays, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the May rebar contract closed at CNY 3,866/tonne ($608.75/t), down CNY 68/t, while the same contract for hot rolled coil closed down CNY 57/t at CNY 3,927/t.
