Chinese steel futures increase before last trading day
Chinese steel futures rose slightly on Tuesday on the penultimate trading day before the Lunar New Year, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the May rebar contract closed at CNY 3,921/tonne ($620.25/t), up CNY 15/t, and the same contract for hot rolled coil rose CNY 21/t to CNY 3,985/t. Both dipped during night trading but gradually trended up and stabilised by the end of the day.
