CIS output decreases in 2022 amid war, sanctions

CIS crude steel production decreased in December, according to the latest worldsteel data monitored by Kallanish. Regional output amounted to 6.2 million tonnes, down by 28.4% year-on-year. In full-year 2022, CIS crude steel production was less by 20.2% on-year to 85.2mt. Russian production last month is estimated to have decreased by 11.3% to 5.5mt.
