December US imports drop, still higher on-year
US steel imports during the month of December declined 8% from November but were nearly double that of a year earlier.
A preliminary count by the US government reveals more than 2.6 million tonnes of steel products were imported into the country in December 2021. While declining 8% from November, imports were nearly double that of December 2020.
