Construction demand boosts Mechel Service shipments
Mechel’s trading arm, Mechel-Service, posted a 15% on-year increase in shipments in 2021 to 1.75 million tonnes, the company says.
In January-November it sold over 1.56mt of steel products (see Kallanish passim).
The largest contribution to shipment growth was made by high-margin product groups, the enterprise claims. I-beam sales increased by 38% on-year, stainless steel sheet by 35%, ropes by 20% and strip by 15%.
