East Asian longs import markets slow
The East Asian market for imported long products has slowed down. Regional buying interest is lacklustre despite some downward price correction, Kallanish notes.
Offers for 6.5mm diameter blast furnace wire rod from Malaysia and Indonesia have come down to around $850/tonne cfr Manila compared to $855-865/t cfr a week ago. A 10,000-tonne parcel of Indonesian wire rod struck at $850/t cfr late last week.
