East Asian slab market lapses, HRC falls further
The slab import market in East Asia is languishing amid weakened hot rolled coil prices, Kallanish notes. In Vietnam, commercial-grade HRC prices continue to fall.
Offers for slab are scarce, most regional traders say. In the current subdued market where buying sentiment is weak, mills are not openly making offers. “The lower they offer, the more nervous the buyers get,” a regional trader in Singapore said on Tuesday.
