French rebar sales continue to drag
French rebar market activity continues to be sluggish as buyers have so far mostly shunned purchases for September delivery.
Even if demand remains weak, distributors report slightly improved activity in July as buyers implemented some orders for September before shutting down next week for the summer holidays. This year, long steel producers are idling their plants early and for longer to balance demand with supply.
