French stainless scrap prices climb
Stainless steel scrap prices in France have increased significantly this month, by €200/tonne ($218) on average compared to the beginning of March. At that time, the European stainless market was in turmoil because of the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
While last month activity was reduced to a minimum, due to mills’ stoppages throughout Europe, output is slowly returning to normal this month, sources in the market tell Kallanish.
