US Steel will provide auto manufacturer General Motors with the green steel product known as verdeX, Kallanish reports.
VerdeX will be produced at US Steel's new electric arc furnace facility located in Arkansas, near the company's Big River Steel facility. The new mill will produce 3 million short tons/year and required a $3 billion investment to build. It is slated to come online in 2024.
